What is Clogging?
Clogging is an American folk dance that began in the Appalachian Mountains and dates back to the 1700s. As the Appalachians were settled by the Irish, Scottish, English and Dutch-Germans, the folk dances of each area met and began to combine in an impromptu foot-tapping style, the beginning of clog dancing as we know it today.
Modern clogging is done to many types of music and has enjoyed widespread popularity throughout the world. It is a lively, energetic dance that is great exercise and so much fun! And no, we don't wear wooden shoes, we wear clogging dance shoes with stainless steel double taps attached.
Join us for our 10 th clogging workshop in West Kelowna, BC on June 6, 7, and 8th, 2025. Don't miss the fun on the dance floor! Registration form to be available shortly.
